Reno-Fernley Raceway, 2007

Reno-Fernley Raceway, 2007.

Running a very hot session with Ozzie, another member of Race Inc. at Reno-Fernley Raceway, 2007. This was a very good session, as we'd both been out in the session before, and had warm tires right out of the gate. Very heated and fun 6 laps on a very long course.

A trackday at Reno-Fernley Raceway, in Fernley, Nv. A great track for practicing correction on blown turns, and a very long track with over 30 turns. Perfect for working on all kinds of set ups and entrance and exit speed.

Start of the race at Infineon Raceways, August 18th, 2007. Without a fully setup bike, I had problems coming out of the carousel, and over rode the bikes potential and it's suspension. That has since been remedied with a Penske double clicker, rear shock, and Racetech internals on the GSXR750 front end suspension.
Well, a fresh start to the 2008 season is about to get under way. The bike is prepped and all the plastics are on and the bike should be safety wired and ready to run.

I've done some prep work on the off season in anticipation of this upcoming year.

Tomorrow I head for Buttonwillow for a much needed trackday to get the rust out and work the bike and motor in. It's been several months since I've been on the racebike, and I really wish time would have been more available to spend a few days on the track in the offseason.

Last year, saw me get into the AFM and also start a couple of races. Nothing major on the finishes, as one was unfortunately a crash and the other a DQ due to an unseen yellow flag, whilst drag racing down the front straight at THILL with another rider. The standing yellow was missed by both of us, but I made the pass on the outside of T1 before I saw the waving yellow. Lessons learned.

This year, I'm setting new goals for myself, and basically working on finishing the races and setting some personal laptimes for myself and the bike. Hopefully with the help of the new engine goods in place I can lower my laptimes and make a good showing.

I will be running with Race Inc. again this year, and we are changing our colors and working on some more presentable formats for our sponsors to see, as well as the spectators. We will definitely be recognizable on the track.

The start of the season, was unfortunately marred by the accident of one of our riders off the track. He is healing fast and well, and we look forward to any decision he makes in regards to motorcycles and racing. Either way, he remains a big member of our team.

We've also welcomed a new team member, Stanley Chan, who will be running the SV650 production class. This will add another SV to our group of riders and into another class of bikes. The 650 Production class.

I'll leave tomorrow about noon, for buttonwillow and meet the guys down there.

I have a new DID chain in place, working on the full system Leo Vince system, with high mount titatnium canister, as well as the Keihin flatlslides, which were a gift from my family (much thanks to them) and a few other changes that I hope to work on.

We are currently working with TILT custom leather suits to get a set of 4 suits for our team, which are matching and provide a more presentable format for sponsors to display themselves if they wish on our suits, and bikes, and our pits.

Hope to see many of you out there, and lets get this season started. :)
